MY HERO

"Not all superhero's wear capes, mine wears bunker gear."

The firehouse love story a girl could never have imagined.

I met Darren when I was 14 years old and he was 16 about to turn 17 while I was visiting his father who happened to work at a firehouse. (If I only knew then how my life would be now, haha.) I was best friends with his father before I even met Darren, actually I met Darren's best friend and dated him before Darren thanks to his father. Darren was dating someone at the time, but you can never forget the first feeling when you fall in love (yes, love at first sight is actually true in some cases). After a while Darren and I built a friendship and then it became more, of course there's always heart ache. After he graduated and I graduated we never really spoke but a few times, until...
I moved to Germany in June of 2008, never thinking how much different my life would be. I stayed close to my friends, spent hours catching up to how everyone's life was going. Right before I came back home I gained a new friend on Facebook, it was Darren. We talked for a while, I came back in August of 2009 and even though we talked a lot I never saw him until October. October 1st 2009, I went to see Darren for the first time. I was scared, nervous, anxious, and I had that happy feeling again not knowing what to expect.
October 7th, 2009 he finally asked me to be his girlfriend, no it wasn't the romantic kind he actually said "is it official?" haha. One thing lead to another and the next thing I know we wind up with a baby. :) We were nervous, anxious, scared, but we were happy. January I went to a doctors appointment that changed everything. It was the first time we saw the baby, the heartbeat and everything became real. 6 hours after the appointment Darren and I wound up at the ER, I was having a miscarriage. It was the hardest thing we've both ever had to go through, but it brought us closer. March of 2010 I took a pregnancy test that stated we were expecting again, but this time it stayed a secret for the longest time. We at least waited until it was after the 6 weeks to say anything to anyone. Next thing we know the baby kept growing and 9 months later, we had Gavin. He's the perfect blend of both of us, smart as can be. (but you'll read all about our little noodle). Darren and I got engaged March 15, 2010 and ended up married on October 31st, 2010. Now we're happily married for 2 years, and even on the days that I want to kill him I couldn't imagine my life without him.

"I promise it'll always be me who comes through that door."
